The Clamor of Lost Power and the Need for Responsible Leadership
….The loss of political power has revealed an increasingly evident phenomenon in public debate: a rise in aggression and noise on the part of those who are no longer in power. Instead of an opposition focused on sound proposals, we are witnessing an increasingly strident discourse, marked by a disturbing tone that adds little or nothing to the country’s future.
In the context of the presentation of the Government’s Program, the Amended Budget, and the State of the Nation address, what should have been a healthy democratic debate turned into a spiral of bitterness and disrespect. Much of today’s political discourse seems to be driven by resentment, adopting attitudes that border on the repugnant and that undermine the quality of our institutions and public life.
Differences of opinion are fundamental to pluralism and democratic vitality, but personal attacks and systematic obstruction achieve nothing. Insulting one’s opponent and trying to prevent any progress does not solve the real problems of those who work and try to navigate their daily lives.
These moments called for maturity, but wounded pride and behind-the-scenes battles continue to prevail. Endless and fruitless political debates serve only the interests of those who promote them, leaving out the real priorities of those who need concrete answers.
The reality for families is one of mounting difficulties and growing frustration with the political spectacle. Most people ask only for authentic leadership—leadership capable of listening with empathy, uniting society, and working seriously to solve everyday problems.
More than ever, the country needs a clear focus and a united voice centered on practical solutions. Stability and progress are not built on noise, but rather on effective policies that address the population’s most urgent needs.
Fundamental areas such as health, education, decent housing, and youth employment cannot continue to be treated as mere political bargaining chips. We need leaders who guarantee opportunity and respect for all citizens, without exception.
Our people deserve representatives who know how to bring hope rather than division, who deliver results instead of excuses, and who base their actions on respect rather than constant hostility. Politics must be an instrument of construction, not destruction.
The country cannot continue to be held hostage by those who are more concerned with regaining power at any cost than with serving the public interest. Holding back national development for the sake of mere electoral calculations is an attitude that society will no longer tolerate.
It is time to put an end to the noise and disrespect that are poisoning the national debate. The moment calls for responsible leadership, a genuine commitment to public service, and national unity focused, above all, on the well-being and future of the people.
